Quiet Walker Lodge Dubuque Iowa

About Us

In 2008 new owners acquired the former bed and breakfast located on the property, and re-opened it as Quiet Walker Lodge Bed and Breakfast Inn a few months later. After remodeling the rooms and performing some extensive maintenance to the exterior of the thirty year old lodge, our first customers arrived in August of that year. A revitalized Dubuque bed and breakfast was ready for our guests, and did they come! Our guests soon discovered that we were the perfect spot for a romantic weekend, anniversary getaways, wedding and honeymoon needs and just plain relaxing and enjoying nature at a secluded Iowa B & B.

Here is what some of our guests have said about Quiet Walker Lodge Bed and Breakfast:

March 2014 “Excellent week at the QWL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago An extremely beautiful facility! My wife and I were in severe need of getting away from our busy schedules. After much searching we settled on QWL. We are so happy we did. We were warmly greeted by John and Deb upon arrival. They made our week there an overall amazing stay. We enjoyed their conversation and by far the best breakfasts we have had. Great cooks! They also gave us ideas on things to see and places to eat. Any B&B would be a hit with John and Deb looking after the guests. That coupled with the beauty of the area, the lodge, and the wildlife just outside your window made this stay more than we had hoped or imagined. The room, Bella Vita, was cozy and so nice to retire to each night. We spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace in the main lodge. Just awesome! Stayed March 2014, traveled as a couple. “Awesome Get Away!!”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014 My husband & I visited Quiet Walker in late November for a quick night away. Our room was very clean & spacious!! We got a couples massage(my husband's first time) and It was the best massage I've EVER had!! My husband who was unsure about getting a massage really enjoyed it! John & Deb were great with helping us pick somewhere in the area to eat dinner. Their recommendation where to go was exactly what we were looking for! They made us feel right at home from the minute we walked in to the lodge!!! We will definately go back when we have another free weekend. Stayed November 2013, traveled as a couple. Trip Advisor

“A quiet, comfortable place to celebrate life”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013 My review is overdue, but I must commend this place for being so accomodating to my wife and I when we celebrated our honeymoon there. Because of a farming schedule that couldn't be changed, we were three days late to arrive at this B &B. I had chosen this place because it was in the country, I'd read that it was quiet, but yet it was close to Dubuque so we could enjoy the restaurants and tourist spots there. It was also close enough to a bike trail that we could drive there and bike for the day. The inn master was gracious enough to allow us to stay on different nights, and gave us a gift certificate to use for the additional night's stay that I had purchased but was unable to use that week because of the change in our schedule. The breakfast was excellent, scenery absolutely breathtaking driving in on Highway 3 and also on the gravel road leading to the lodge. the room was clean and comfortable. Stayed June 2013, traveled as a couple. Trip Advisor

"We recently took our two daughters and their significant others to Dubuque for a family celebration and stayed at the Quiet Walker Lodge. We stayed in three of their beautiful theme suites and enjoyed them to the max. The place is beautiful inside and outside. The breakfast was made to order and the owner was very accommodating. I wish we could have stayed an extra night, but we will definetely find our way back again some day. I highly recommend that you try it if you are in the Dubuque area. Kim B "

"My husband and I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts. So far and this one beats them all. Our room was so nice and cozy and the view was wonderful. I love the fall colors and the breakfast was awesome. Carol was so nice and I can't wait to go back and stay there again. This was a very romantic place. Our room was the Bella Vita and we just loved it."

"I was very pleasantly surprised. I found the listing for this and it looked like a very romantic place. Planned the weekend as a total suprise for my husband for our anniversary. It was a great get away and I loved the personal service and touches. It was our first B&B experience and we definitely will do it again."

"The Quiet Walker Lodge was the best idea we ever had! When we arrived, Carol came outside and greeted us. She showed us to our room. We stayed in Bella Vita. The refrigerator was stocked with a couple of sodas, some waters, some cheese, and a package of crackers. On top of the microwave, there was a tray with the crackers and two types of corkscrews, the type of thing you always forget to bring when you have a bottle of wine! We slept well the first night. The next morning we were served a delicious quiche, croissants,. fresh fruit, bread, coffee, and juice. A well need start to the day."
